The View From Here | Northern Virginia Photographer

The theme for the MCP weekly project is the view from here…. I originally went to Iwo Jima to take a photo of the three monuments (Lincoln, Washington Monument and Capital). This is one of the best views of DC and the best on the 4th of July. The fireworks are right above the Washington Monument.

Then I thought about doing another view of the Iwo Jima through a marble again.

But as I looked over and saw Arlington Cemetery, I knew I wanted to take some photos. The site of Arlington Cemetery is so heartbreaking to me. So many lost lives. I know several people buried there including My Grandfather and Grandmother. I did not know the one gravestone I focused one int he photo below, I just saw the purple heart reference and that he was only 21 years old when he died.

Here is a composite of a few of the images, I ended up submitting the first one.
